Why I started Big Belly Fitness

After the birth of my first child, I found it challenging to find the time to get back into shape and My Life was Fitness!  I was Regional Manager for a large fitness chain, spending ten or so hours per day in fitness centers, but still could not find the time for myself.  There were many obstacles and excuses that made their way into my life that I had never had to deal with before.  Add those issues to the pressure of seeing on Hollywood "new moms" back into their pre-baby shapes in no time and I was one frustrated, stressed-out instructor.

I knew the benefits to exercise were something invaluable to a new mom, but taking the time for myself made me guilt-ridden.  Isn't my life supposed to be "all about my baby?"  There was also the issue of daycare.  Not only did I feel bad leaving my child in the daycare center for "my selfishness," but it was difficult to get in a workout without being called out for my baby's needs.

It was several months before I was really able to get back into any sort of routine with my workouts.  Once I did, I realized how much happier I was and how much happier my baby would be!  I decided that I wanted to dedicate my career to offering the luxuries the Hollywood moms have to the suburban mom.  Fitness, nutrition assistance, motivation, and support at a reasonable cost.  So, here is Big Belly Fitness...no excuses, just happy, healthy moms and babies!
